EN IEC 62115:2020 (Updated Version of “Electric Toys – Safety”) Published

This newly published European Harmonized Standard for "Electric toys – Safety" (EN IEC 62115:2020) is a significant replacement of the previous version: EN 62115:2005 + A12:2015 -- taking into account of the latest technological developments, e.g. safety requirements for light-emitting toys (especially LEDs), and remote-controlled ride on toys.

Developed by CLC/TC 61 “Safety of household and similar electrical appliances”, this new standard EN IEC 62115:2020 and its amendment A11:2020 continue to support EU Toy Safety Directive (2009/48/EC) and will be used for a presumption for compliance of the essential requirements of the Directive after their citation in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU).
