STC Participates in Germany’s Nuremburg International Toy Fair 2024
30 Jan 2024

[30 January 2024, Nuremburg, Germany] A team of experts from Hong Kong Standards and Testing Centre participates in Nuremburg International Toy Fair 2024 from 30 January to 3 February 2024. The fair has attracted over 2,300 exhibitors from more than 60 countries and regions around the world.

“We are pleased to be here again,” said Mr. Johnny WONG, General Manager of STC’s Toys and Children’s Products Department. “And we look forward to taking this opportunity to further expand our international market and introduce STC’s leading-edge testing capabilities to more manufacturers and buyers of toys and children’s products.”

During the first day, many domestic and global manufacturers and buyers enquired about STC’s testing services for toys and children’s products, as well as the latest international standards and safety regulations. STC’s veteran experts explained the latest developments in STC’s toys and children's product testing services.

In recent years, STC has expanded its testing scope from traditional toys and children’s products to include sports products for children, such as bicycles and helmets. Additionally, STC (Vietnam) was included in the “Recognised List of Overseas Testing Agencies” by the Japanese government in 2023, becoming the first registered toy testing laboratory in Haiphong, Vietnam recognised by the Japanese government for testing toys and children’s products intended for the Japanese market.

STC has an excellent national and international reputation as a testing, inspection and certification organisation that can test toy products according to international standards. Its test reports are widely recognised by certification bodies from many countries, including China's CMA, CNAS and CNCA; Vietnam's VILAS, BoA; Japan's MHLW, JTA and CPSA; and the United States' CPSC and PJLA.

STC will continue broadening its testing scope and striving to expand recognition to provide increasingly convenient and efficient testing services for toy manufacturers from more countries. For more details about STC’s toys and children’s product testing services, please contact STC.

STC (VIETNAM) NOW A HASBRO-APPROVED 3RD PARTY PHYSICAL, MECHANICAL, AND CHEMICAL TESTING LAB
22 Dec 2023

[Hai Phong City, Vietnam, 19 December 2023] Hasbro recently named Hong Kong Standards and Testing Centre (Vietnam) (STC (Vietnam)) as one of its approved third-party physical, mechanical, and chemical testing laboratories.  Both parties were in Hai Phong City, Vietnam, to sign the agreement.

“We are delighted and honoured to be approved as one of Hasbro’s third-party testing laboratories,” said Mr. Ben LAU, Director of Operations at STC.  Mr. LAU added that this cooperation between both companies has been highly anticipated.  With the recognition, STC (Vietnam) can now take on more toys testing projects domestically and internationally, thereby further expanding its already-considerable service scope.

STC (Vietnam) was established in Vietnam in 2013 to serve the increasing number of manufacturers moving their production lines to Southeast Asia.  The laboratory commenced operations in 2016, providing convenient testing services locally.  Its accreditations to date include VILAS (approved accreditation from the Vietnam Bureau of Accreditation) for ISO/IEC 17025, listing on the Japan Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (JMWHW) accredited directory, and USA CPSC for third party testing to CPSIA standards.  STC (Vietnam) is also authorised by the Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality under decree 107/2016/ND-CP to provide conformity assessment services in Vietnam.

Rapid industrial development in Southeast Asia means that demand for testing increased exponentially and keeps on increasing.  STC (Vietnam) has thus become an important testing centre and base for entry into ASEAN countries.
