Status Update for the EN Standards for Toy Safety
The EN 71 series and EN 62115, published by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN), are the European harmonised standards for Toy Safety, with the latter specializing in electric toys.
These harmonized standards, when cited in the Official Journal of the European Union (EU) – with the specified (mostly the latest) revision – determine the suitability of a certain verification method to presume product conformity with the “Toy Safety Directive 2009/48/EC”.
In 2025, nearly all EN 71 and EN 62115 standards will be revised, and so close monitoring of these standards for the latest update status is of particular importance.
