China Compulsory Certification (CCC) was established by the Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People’s Republic of China (CNCA) according to the Compulsory Product Certification Regulations, and has been in effect since 1 May 2003. After adjustment, there are 21 categories in "The Catalogue of Products Subject to Compulsory Certification", including wires & cables, circuit switches and electrical devices for protection or connection, low-voltage apparatus, low power motor, electric power tool, electric welding machine, household and similar use appliances, audio & video equipment, information technology equipment, lighting equipment, motor vehicles and safety accessories, motor vehicle tyre, safety glass, agricultural machinery product, telecommunication terminal equipment, fire products, security and protection products, decoration products, children’s products, explosion-proof electric apparatus, domestic gas cooking appliances, etc. Products subject to compulsory certification cannot be sold, imported and/or used in business activities in China without first being certified in accordance with CCC requirements.
