China, September 11th, 2018 - The 6th Forum on China-ASEAN Technology Transfer and Collaborative Innovation was held in Nanning, Guangxi on September 11th to September 15th. Ms. Joey Lau, Senior Manager of the STC’s Chemistry, Food and Pharmaceuticals Department and Mr. Andy Wang, Manager of STC (Dongguan)’s Chemical, Food and Pharmaceutical Products Divisionwere invited to attend the annual forum and share their expertise.
Hosted by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China and the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the annual forum is jointly organized by The Guangxi Science and Technology Department and the China-ASEAN Technology Transfer Center. Ms. Joey Lau, delivered a keynote speech on September 11th (Time: 16:35-16:45) to share her knowledge and introduce STC's specialty in drug testing. Additionally, Prof. Shen Yuandong, Vice Chairman of the ISO Chinese Medicine Technical Committee, personally read the “Traditional Chinese Medicine Standardization Regional Collaborative Proposal” and called on “One Belt, One Road” Countries to work together and promote the collaborative innovation and development of Chinese medicine through mutual exchanges, recognition and integration of traditional Chinese medicine standards.
The Forum on China-ASEAN Technology Transfer and Collaborative Innovation has become a significant platform for China, ASEAN and other countries along the Maritime Silk Road to develop scientific and technological collaboration and is an important high-level forum in China organized under the framework of the ASEAN Expo. STC’s participation in this meaningful event, has not only strengthened the exchange of expertise and mutual learning between STC and experts in the field of International Chinese medicine, but has also helped foster and promote the orderly circulation and integration of knowledge between China and ASEAN.
STC (Dongguan), a member of the STC Group was founded in 2005 as an independent, third-party product Testing, Inspection and Certification body approved by the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China (GACC). Since 2012, STC became the first designated testing laboratory in Hong Kong to provide CCC testing services to local manufacturers and importers. In 2014, STC (Dongguan) became one of the first few non-governmental laboratories in China authorized to undertake CCC testing for electric, plastic, metal, projectile and doll toys. In 2015, STC invested in a new animal laboratory in Dognguan and began to provide a full range of biocompatibility testing services for medical device manufacturers locally and abroad. Over the years, STC (Dongguan) has received worldwide accreditation including China Metrology Accreditation (CMA), China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS), US Federal Communications Commission (FCC), US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Govmark Testing Services, Industry Canada, LUCIDEON, SATRA Technology Centre, DAkkS, Nemko, etc., as well as being a CB Testing Laboratory (CBTL) under the IECEE-CB Scheme and earning a leading position in the southern China testing industry.
