The Scheme ensures products in the test are biodegradable with testing that includes food packing materials, cups, bowls, stationery, cosmetics, hair care products and more. Through the certification, consumers are encouraged to use a variety of biodegradable products which can then alleviate the saturation problem of the landfills. Eco Mark evaluates the process from product design, use of substances and materials through to manufacturing process to confirm that the production conforms with environmentally conscious practices. The scope of the evaluation covers most of the furniture and other consumer goods, consumers are then guaranteed truly "green" products.
