[Hai Phong City, Vietnam, 19 December 2023] Hasbro recently named Hong Kong Standards and Testing Centre (Vietnam) (STC (Vietnam)) as one of its approved third-party physical, mechanical, and chemical testing laboratories. Both parties were in Hai Phong City, Vietnam, to sign the agreement.
“We are delighted and honoured to be approved as one of Hasbro’s third-party testing laboratories,” said Mr. Ben LAU, Director of Operations at STC. Mr. LAU added that this cooperation between both companies has been highly anticipated. With the recognition, STC (Vietnam) can now take on more toys testing projects domestically and internationally, thereby further expanding its already-considerable service scope.
STC (Vietnam) was established in Vietnam in 2013 to serve the increasing number of manufacturers moving their production lines to Southeast Asia. The laboratory commenced operations in 2016, providing convenient testing services locally. Its accreditations to date include VILAS (approved accreditation from the Vietnam Bureau of Accreditation) for ISO/IEC 17025, listing on the Japan Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (JMWHW) accredited directory, and USA CPSC for third party testing to CPSIA standards. STC (Vietnam) is also authorised by the Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality under decree 107/2016/ND-CP to provide conformity assessment services in Vietnam.
Rapid industrial development in Southeast Asia means that demand for testing increased exponentially and keeps on increasing. STC (Vietnam) has thus become an important testing centre and base for entry into ASEAN countries.
